Sea Island, Ga…. sometime in the late 80’s. My wife and I were spending a long weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary when I spotted this bird sitting on the dock piling. Those were film days, long before digital. You had to compose, run some calculations through your head, set the camera and…. wait until the film is processed and proofed to know if you got your shot. I was able to fire off 3 frames before the bird took offense at me being there, this was the middle image.
Sunset at the beach. A dragon in for landing, settling in for the night.
Just a beautiful sunset on a hot summer day before the storm hits…
“Staring at a starry night sky, dreaming of some place to go” my favorite line from a Jimmy Buffet song.
It’s the end of the day… everything has been done, nothing left on the list. Until tomorrow, then we start anew.
On the road again, cold coffee in the cup holder, static on the radio. Headed to the horizon, trying to make time.
One more exit, then I’ll stop. One more exit, it’s not too far.
I need fuel, but one more exit before the sun sets, then I’ll stop.
A view from the backyard tonight…. the old timers say “dog days” come in late August when summer drags on, but tonight the air was heavy with humidity and the temperature still high. The tree frogs and Cicadas cry out in protest as the night creatures take over. Another day come and gone.
