Message in a bottle

BottleSunday afternoon, near sunset, down by the water and I discover a half buried bottle. I can’t actually see inside it but my imagination runs wild as visions of a “message in a bottle” form in my brain pushing past any form of logic. My mental state quickly reverts, back to a young boy… calvin-hobbes-bug-diggers Simpler times when it was ok to let your imagination run freely, no responsibilities or worries to slow you down. Funny how a simple item can invoke such a strong response… On this day I choose not to dig up the bottle, leaving the source of my mental freedom for another day’s pleasure.
