Old Days….

Remember“Old days…. good times I remember…”  ©Chicago     We can’t stop “progress”. We live in a world of short attention spans and “need it now” mentality. At times we are all guilty, convenience is contagious.  The by-product is the loss of the older family and small businesses. They were not just a business, but a meeting place. A place to meet the locals, to stand around and “jaw” for a few minutes about current events. I still visit a small feed store every couple of weeks (not the place in the photo)  to pick up a bag of horse food. I notice they aren’t as busy as the old days, a new Tractor Supply opened up a few miles down the road. Competition is rough, they are losing customers to the “convenience” of a larger chain store. The feed store is run by two brothers who tell the older customers, the loyal customers, that time is short, they don’t know how much longer they can hold on.

I began my photography career in high school, 39 years later it's still what defines me more than anything else. I've had other jobs and many hobbies but just never was able to stay away from behind the lens.
